Panchase Trekking

Panchase Trekking

Panchase is actually the name of a hill that is located in the Pokhara region of Nepal. Panchase lies around 2500 meters above overlooking Fewa Lake and offering splendid views of more than 8000meter mountains Daulagiri, Annapurna & Manaslu.

Panchase is a compound word meaning "five seats of the divine mother". "Panch" means "five", the "as" is from the root word of Asana (the Yoga schools of physical posture) meaning a seat or place and the "e(ee)" represents the female gender. The symbol of five, represents an ancient Yoga system in which a person experiences five levels of existence. Three of these levels are thinking, feeling and sensing with the Above and Below completing this symbol of manifestation. Given the mountains name, the ancient Vedics thought of Panchase as one of the ultimate places of meditation.

Panchase hill trekking is an ideal trekking destination for short trekking holidays in Nepal. Panchase trekking with its subtropical basin passes through colorful rhododendron forest providing excellent mountain views. Panchase trek is emerging as a popular village tourism destination. Panchase can be considered as one of the best short camping treks on the south-west side of pokhara in the Annapurna Region. The place is bordered on the east by Kaski, on the west by Parbat and on the south by Syangja districts. It is also a popular religion site where many Hindu Pilgrim visit during the festivals. The top of Panchase is the best view point to have a panorama of the Himalayas and green valleys and terraces of mid-hilly region. The thick forest and wildlife along the trekking trail are fascinating. There are different trails that lead to Panchase and all are equally comfortable and interesting. The village settlements are also eye catching. This is a panoramic trek beyond Phewa Lake in Pokhara. From Panchase you will see the great Himalayan peaks of Machhapuchhare, Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Lamjung and Manaslu. Panchase also gives you the chance to see  breathtaking beautiful sunrise views in the mornings. The terrain varies from subtropical valleys of banana trees and rice paddies to high ridges covered in rhododendron forest thus supporting an abundant array of bird and wildlife.
